Welcome to Jibbered, a combination of social networking and blogging. Here, all users who write blogs will be sharing their content across our entire community. All users will also have their own private profile and activity page that can only be viewed by their friends.
How Do I Use Jibbered?
Jibbered is very simple to use. Simply create an account, upload an avatar, search for some friends, and you’re on your way!
Aside from that there are many things you can do here at Jibbered:
1. Create a group: All users are free to create their own groups. Each group is allowed its own custom avatar, activity feed, and forum. Your group is your own, from the moment it is created you will have full administrative power over your group; you can sticky forum topics, delete posts, ban or promote users at your choosing. To create a group, simply choose the “groups” option on the top of any screen on this website, and select the option to add a new group. You may make your group absolutely private so no users can locate it, and only invite members whom you choose, or make your group public by invite, or free to join. It’s completely up to you!
2. Post a blog: This website is built using the popular WordPress web builder, simply choose the “Post A Blog” option at the top of any page and you will be taken to the WordPress create post page. Enter a title, type in your content, make it look nice with pictures ***DO NOT USE COPYRIGHTED IMAGES, DO NOT COPY OTHER PEOPLES WORK, THEY WILL BE REMOVED AND PRIVILEGES REVOKED***. New users must have their blogs authorized by an administrator ten times (this process is automatic) before being given full publishing capabilities.
3. Author Bio: Each blog article will have an about author section on the bottom. To customize this, navigate to the “Post A Blog” section, and when you enter the WordPress area, choose “Profile” and you will see “Biography” as well as a wealth of options to connect your account to your facebook, twitter, e-mail, personal website, and many more. Every Author will have their own feed which they can find at “http://jibbered.com/members/USERNAME/posts/”. This user feed is also found in every users profile page under the “Posts” category.
4. Ranking System: Our Rank system is currently not based on any earned points or achievements. We simply grant deserving users a number and a title. Eventually a point to title structure will be implemented
5. Achievements: Most achievements are automatic, however certain achievements are granted by admin (such as high blog traffic achievements or donation achievements). Browse over to the Achievements page to see all available achievements. We will eventually be implementing a reward system for top achievers.
Keep Our Community Safe
The Jibbered team would like to thank you for becoming a member of our community. We are committed to bringing you top quality content and in doing so ask that you as our treasured users return the favor by helping our staff keep Jibbered clean of abusive users who use excessive profanity and/or upload graphic content to this website.
You will notice next to each and every post on all activity feeds and every comment posted under each blog that we have added a “Report user” option.
We have a filtering service in place for the blogging sections of this web site at the time being since that content is freely available to nonmembers throughout the world, however for the time being we have opted to allow users on the social networking side of Jibbered the ability to express themselves freely. There will be those who abuse these privileges, thus we ask that you report any user who:
- Uses excessive profanity both publicly and privately in a manner that offends fellow users.
- Uploads graphic images for use as an avatar; these avatars are seen by all users throughout the website and must be kept clean.
- Uploads graphic images on their activity feeds; we do NOT want graphic content in any shape or form being distributed on Jibbered. Any user who breaks this rule will be banned with no warning. Repeat offenders will be IP banned permanently (yes we can track you even when you give us different contact information).
- Users who portray any form of harassment, including but not limited to: Harrassing non-friends via private messaging, sending constant friend requests to a person who has rejected the friendship, uploading offensive images, using an offensive display name and using it to offend others, and more.
- We will not tolerate threats in any shape or form on Jibbered, if you feel threatened by any user on this website, report them immediately. Your report is anonymous, and will help us track down these users and keep our community clean.
- Users who use copyrighted images and/or copy articles from other websites. We thoroughly check all new users content for copyright infringement and duplicate information, but after a trial period users are granted rights to publish their own work without moderation; we ask that you the users stay vigilant and report to us any abuse of these privileges.
There are many more ways to abuse the privileges given on a social media network. Ultimately we ask that if something makes you uncomfortable, report it immediately so our staff can review the reported users behavior and decide whether action is necessary.
